Our first term was about building, and we built a lot! City services, public safety protections, housing resources, transparency, fiscal stewardship, and a strong community engagement. This is just the beginning. The accomplishments below reflect the momentum we've created, and the process we will continue in the years ahead.
✅ Built Our New City from Scratch
- Helped stand up city government with NO transition team
- Successfully won the lawsuit challenging the creation of the City
- Established city ethics principles and appointed first Ethics Commission
- Created city pay plan (with GA Dept. of Community Affairs)
- Negotiated tax collection agreements with Cobb County to fund city operations
- Negotiated franchise agreements with utility providers (power, gas, internet)
- Procured IT and operational infrastructure (GovPilot, city email, devices)
✅ Launched and Strengthened Essential City Services
- Established Code Enforcement Department and transitioned services
- Worked with Code Enforcement and community members to drive accountability
in troubled apartment complexes
- Partnered with NACA to host a major Housing & Financial Empowerment
Workshop (350+ attendees), providing resources for renters and homebuyers
- Stood up Planning & Zoning Department and transitioned services
- Appointed members to Planning & Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning
Appeals
- Launched Building Inspection Services
- Brought Trash Services under city management
- Helped maintain a balanced budget and ensured no new property taxes (no millage
rate increase for two consecutive years)
✅ Protected Public Safety Services
- Successfully negotiated and advocated to prevent the County from pulling public
safety services — ensuring Mableton residents continue receiving essential police,
fire, and emergency services
- Voted strategically to protect residents while advocating for fair, transparent
agreements that reflect taxpayer value
✅ Fiscal Responsibility & Good Governance
- Prioritized fiscal discipline and responsible budgeting in a brand-new city
environment, ensuring we maintain a multi-million surplus
- Advanced transparency in zoning, planning, and service agreements
- Contributed to the creation of the Mableton 2045 Comprehensive Plan
- Strengthened intergovernmental partnerships with Cobb County on zoning,
planning, taxes
✅ Community Impact & Constituent Service
- Facilitated donation of Magnolia Crossing land (District 2) to Cobb & Douglas
Public Health, enabling a future health center on Riverside Parkway
- Donated 100% of first year Council salary to senior and youth programs
- Directly assisted local seniors with: Health bills, Utility bills, Lawn care and
property maintenance, Transportation, etc.
- Hosted multiple community cleanups
- Hosted Senior Brunch events to celebrate and connect with seniors
- Led Back-to-School drives, distributing hundreds of backpacks and supplies
- Sponsored Teacher Appreciation Week for local schools (multiple years)
✅ Community Engagement & Transparency
- Established transparent communication with constituents through townhalls,
Nextdoor, social media, and other public forums
- Proactively communicated with residents during public safety and service
negotiations — ensuring the community stayed informed and engaged
